Travel New Zealand helps travellers explore destinations across Aotearoa New Zealand and plan their own trips. The app is a planning guide — where relevant we link travellers directly to provider and official websites, and any separately offered booking or travel advisor assistance is governed by our Terms & Conditions. Travel New Zealand is an independent travel planning app. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Tourism New Zealand, the New Zealand Government, DOC, Waka Kotahi/NZTA, or any official tourism authority unless expressly stated. This page acknowledges the maps, data, content, and software that help make the app possible.

Maps, Routing & Data

Interactive maps, map styles, and basemap tiles are provided by Mapbox (mapbox.com), built on open map data from OpenStreetMap contributors (openstreetmap.org/copyright). Map rendering uses the open-source MapLibre GL JS library (maplibre.org). Where driving times and routes are shown, routing and directions may be provided by Mapbox services. Map and routing data are used under their respective terms; trademarks and data remain the property of their respective owners.

Open & Public Data Sources

Some track, hike, and conservation-related details are sourced from public open-data providers. Where this applies, attribution is shown with the relevant listing and summarised here:

• Department of Conservation (NZ) — track and conservation information, licensed under CC BY 4.0 (creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0). Changes may have been made for formatting, summaries, filtering, map rendering, and app integration. DOC does not endorse Travel New Zealand LLC or this app.

Provider-Supplied Content

Some listing details — including names, descriptions, images, logos, amenities, and links — may be supplied by providers or sourced from provider or public materials. Provider names, logos, trademarks, and content remain the property of their respective owners. Inclusion of a provider or listing in the app does not imply endorsement, partnership, or a recommendation unless explicitly stated.

Third-Party & Public-Source Images

Some images may come from public or third-party sources where their use is permitted. Where a specific source, photographer, owner, or licence is known, that attribution is shown alongside the relevant image or listing within the app. Where attribution is required for a public open-licence image, it is displayed with the image. If you believe an image is missing required attribution, or is used in error, please let us know using the contact details below and we will review it.

Some licensed stock images are sourced through Shutterstock under Travel New Zealand's Shutterstock account/license. Shutterstock images and contributor content remain the property of their respective rights holders and are used under license.

Travel New Zealand Content

Original Travel New Zealand copy, editorial layout, planning and itinerary tools, the user interface, and the overall app experience are Travel New Zealand content unless otherwise noted. These materials remain the property of Travel New Zealand LLC and its licensors.

Report an Attribution Issue

If you believe content, an image, a logo, or a trademark has been used incorrectly or without proper attribution, please contact us at info@travelnewzealand.com with details and, where possible, a link to the relevant screen. We will review reports and correct or remove content as appropriate.

Verified members can also reach us through Member Support inside the app. If you are not signed in or not yet a verified member, the email address above is the best way to contact the Travel New Zealand team about an attribution question.
